Debut release from the band Haunted West. Haunted West is pleased to announce its debut release "Haunted West". This 4-song self-titled EP features the band Haunted West and is released by new record label, Haunted West Records. The 180-gram vinyl is limited to 500 copies. The band is comprised of five old high school friends from Wooster, Ohio who eventually migrated to different regions of the West, rekindling their long term musical relationship despite themselves. The band features the eerie pop songs of lead singer/songwriter Mark Grande, with friends Derek Walls, Jeremy Wierwille, Taylor Carmer and Jack McFadden providing the rest of the noise. The band has resided in or around the Bay Area for the better part of the last decade, playing out on special occasions. Please support these musicians by buying their debut release today, preferably on vinyl. Every vinyl order will come with a free CD. With the ease of distributing digital music files today, Haunted West feels that CD's are a fairly worthless medium.While of course they are good for promotional purposes and/or filling landfills, we have them only out of fear of alienating potential listeners. In a perfect world, everyone would stil routinely listen to vinyl records on turntables. However, we all know how much "work" that involves. Its too easy to just punch a button on a digital file player and listen to music for hours, without doing as much as flipping a record. Convenience has won for now. Its hard to jog or ride the bus with a turntable. Haunted West's self-titled EP is also available at Itunes and other sites.

Haunted West is currently in, around or nowhere even close to any studio working on the follow up to the "Haunted West EP". It is a full length album which should be released sometime towards the end of 2008. The album will feature songs played by the band for many years, newer songs, as well as some ideas that may or may not ever be fully incubated. The playing field has been narrowed from 19 songs to 11 songs. Many, many rough tracks have been recorded. Many more rough tracks will still be recorded. It takes time, why am I wasting time updating this website. Look here for progress, failures, starts, stalls and updates.

Drummer Jack McFadden is also a member of another San Francisco band, The New Up. I don't know what they sound like, but they could be quite good and probably need our support as fellow San Franciscans. Check them out in person or online. http://www.thenewup.com/

Fellow Wooster, Ohio friend Charles Williams is currently thinking about eating a sandwich and maybe recording something in the future with Haunted West records. He has been known by the more variations of the name Charles than anyone in previous history. Stay tuned for more details as this man roams up and down the entire West Coast time and time again. If he would stay in San Francisco for more than a week or two things might happen. He is now in Los Angeles. Possible working titles include The Electric Chuck: Common Phenom, Common Phenomenon and Chip IV.
